Château St. Gerlach is located in the Limburg church village of Houthem. It was originally built in the twelfth century as a monastery of Premonstratensians and functioned as a convent for noble women from the fourteenth century until its closure in 1795. In the nineteenth century, the monastery was converted into a castle-like country house.
